The Washington County Court of Common Pleas is comprised of seven judges, who share a variety of responsibilities. The Judges are elected to ten-year terms and are eligible for reelection on a yes-no retention question.
Motions Practice
Each judge promulgates a motions practice for the cases he or she is assigned to. See each Judge's individual page for further information on that motions practice.
Motions on unassigned cases, whether civil or criminal, shall be presented to the civil or criminal Judge of the Term. The Judge of the Term is determined by the day of the month and the Administrative Regulations issued each year. The Administrative Regulations can be found here.
The Judge of the Term shall hear unassigned motions in accordance with his or her regular motions practice.
